“We’re here to stay,” is the caption printed on a pin-on button worn by merchants in the Oviedo Marketplace Mall. Central Florida Matters continues the series — “Coping with the Economy in Seminole County” — with an interview with Jim Pridemore, one of the key principals involved in the trials and tribulations of a shopping mall in southeast Seminole County, Florida, called the Oviedo Marketplace Mall. In addition to being a merchant, Pridemore is the founding president of the 12-year old mall’s first ever merchants’ association formed in the summer of 2009. This feature questions Pridemore about two areas of interest – the role the merchant’s association intends to play in mall and the status of the mall now and in the future. Feature length – 25:16

Its purpose is to nurture the interest of middle school girls in exciting careers in science, technology, engineering and math. While attending the conference the girls and their parents enjoy hands on activities and presentations. This year Miss Florida USA and Mrs. Florida, both with careers and degrees in electrical engineering were the guest speakers. Feature length – 13:19
