Republican candidates Lee Constantine, Kathleen Gallagher McIver, and incumbent Dick Van Der Weide are standing for election for Seminole County Commissioner for District #3. They addressed voters at a forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Seminole County and the Oviedo ~ Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce. A fourth Republican candidate for this commission seat– Don Epps, was unable to attend this event.

The “live” candidate forum lasted more than one hour and 48 minutes.

To make listening more efficient, CMF has created three shorter listening options.

This is the 38-minute option.
In this podcast you’ll hear the candidates’ condensed opening comments and un-edited responses to 7 of 16. Those questions center on what the candidate hopes to accomplish…whether they would increase taxes… what budget waste might be identified and cut…how new business might be attracted to the county…whether the candidate would support the school board’s proposed 1-mill tax increase… growth management planning… and steps to sustain the availability of fresh water in the county

This is the 46-minute option.
In this podcast you’ll hear the remaining 9 questions with the candidates’ un-edited responses on environmental protection… funding the libraries in the county… building consensus on the commission… homelessness in the county… citizen participation in county government… creating toll lanes on portions of Interstate-4…a charter revision to make the commission non-partisan…community redevelopment agencies in the 7-cities in the county…naming one county issue the candidate would improve… and the candidates’ closing statements.
