Ray Bush was general manager of the Seminole Chronicle, a weekly community newspaper which served the communities of Oviedo, Winter Springs, Geneva and Chuluota, in Seminole County, Florida. Bush took the reins and made many changes in this unique local paper. He discusses his vision for the community newspaper and the future of print media. Length - 16:15
Ray Bush got his first break at the Orlando Sentinel but it was as a reporter for the twice weekly community newspaper in Savannah, Tennessee where he received the inspiration for his vision for The Seminole Chronicle. His hopes that it becomes “the heartbeat of the community.”
Mr. Bush works for the Gannett Media Company which publishes The Chronicle, the Central Florida Future and the Saves coupon book. He is also an adjunct professor of Journalism at the University of Central Florida.
